What’s Trending For Weddings In 2020?

Happy New Year, brides! As we say goodbye to 2019, it’s time to welcome a brand-new year of weddings! 2019 saw some impressive trends. Personalization was key, as brides strived to make their receptions fun and unique for their guests. Gowns were simplistic with clean lines and high necklines, with minimalist bouquets to match. Sustainability was a major trend, which brought reduced waste in the form of food stations and charcuterie boards. 2019 was an impressive year, and we’re so excited to see what’s trending for weddings in 2020!

This year, destination weddings will become even more popular, as millennial brides head to the alter. These intimate weddings, also known as ‘micro weddings’, offer a smaller guest list but a higher budget per guest. This makes for an exclusive affair yet with plenty of elegant touches along the way.

Brides will continue to focus on sustainability in 2020. Couples will be choosing florists that select only locally-grown and ethically-sourced flowers. Bridal bouquets will feature personalized touches, such as specific blooms that have a special meaning to them, or hidden mementos in the bouquets. Color palettes will be vibrant and rich including interesting textures and patterns.

Finally, we’ll see something at receptions that has been sweeping the food industry: inclusive menus. Now, more than ever, couples will work with their caterers to provide meals and snacks for guests with allergies or special requests. Vegan, dairy-free, and gluten-free options are just some of the meals that have become more popular. In addition, non-alcoholic drinks will be handcrafted to offer a wider variety of ‘mocktails’ for guests.
